The Representation of the People Act provides that a House to House Inquiry be carried out for the compilation of the Register of Electors.
This year, the said inquiry will be carried out as from Thursday 15 January to Saturday 31 January 2026.
Assistant Registration Officers will be calling in each household to register eligible and qualified electors.
This exercise will take place in all the 21 constituencies, that is, in Mauritius and Rodrigues as well as in the island of Agalega.
The new Register of Electors will come into force on 16th August 2026.
